I wasn't sure how I would feel about this book based on the synopsis but I was interested immediately. I love how the author goes back and forth in time, building mystery and interest while giving the reader enough information to keep us hooked. Gene's childhood experiences, the loss of his father, and his desire to go to med school all combine to create an interesting story. This is one I'll be reading!
