Reading the first couple of chapters was more interesting than I had expected. The book description and blurb made it sound like it was going to be really romance driven, but so far I'm not getting that vibe. I enjoyed reading the medical parts of the story. I also like how we immediately know the things that are haunting Gene, and it's not something that is alluded to but not actually revealed until the climax. I'm not really sure why it has to take place in the 1970's but I do appreciate the time stamps to tell us if we're jumping through the timeline.
