Even though I don't read Young Adult books, after reading the plot, it might be something that I would read. Also, it's set in the 1970s which I like to read.
This high school seems very mature for his age and wants to do the best for this girl he met that he saved. Boy loses girl when they go their separate ways. He wants to go to medical school like his father and he works in a "Heart" operating room. That part would probably turn me off.
