Ginny Myers Sain became an auto-read author for me with Dark and Shallow Lies. From reading the summary alone, I know I will have high hopes for One Last Breath. I love books that about people needing to solve years old cases like We Were Kings by Court Stevens and A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder (#1) by Holly Jackson. There is an extra challenge in trying to solve the case when it happened such a long time ago,

Trulee sounds like a lot of true crime fans who become so far beyond interested in cases. This must be even more difficult with her not knowing what happened to her sister. I have to wonder if there is a connection between all three girls somehow. I already love Trulee and I am already so interested in discovering what happened to Celeste and Bailey, Trulee has such a vivid voice that I can hear. I love how she talks about the awfulness or victims fans’, tourists going to deadly places as attractions and the romanticized notions of Bailey and Celeste’s mysterious deaths, I am intrigued by Trulee’s sister death as well. Knox as the Mayor and East’s uncle is one character that I cannot wait to figure out. From the beginning his character irks me and being a main suspect in the deaths has me needing to know more. I love the relationship dynamics.

I can already tell that Sain has really put care into her characters, alive and deceased. The setting in the town immediately captured me and makes me want to learn more. It is so atmospheric and haunting, I would love to read and review One Last Breath,
