I read this without reading the synopsis. After reading I was surprised how I already felt connected to Jonathan and his parents. Once it was established that storytelling was going to be prevalent I knew I was going to like this book. I want to know who the girl is! What happened? Where does this lead Jonathan? His innocence is sweet and I have a feeling might leave him vulnerable going forward. But I want to see if he grows and if he in turn becomes a storyteller himself.
I enjoyed the set up of the backstory, though I generally prefer stories to start with what is going on presently and insert back story as we go. I didn’t mind it so much. I’m excited for this book so that I can dive deeper into this story!
