So rich and well written!
This was an amazing book! It was just so rich and well written and the world was built and described so eloquently. I just adored it!
Once Upon a RIver is a story about how we explain the world to ourselves, ourselves to others, and the meaning of our lives in a universe that remains impenetrably mysterious.
The book opens at a very old pub. The patrons sit around and drink and listen to stories being told. Then a horribly injured man bursts in the inn with a dead child in his arms. What happened to these two? But the mystery gets even bigger from there... hours later the girl takes a breath and "comes back to life".
So is the little girl? What happened to her?
Several families want to claim her... but where does she really belong?
