Interesting Start
The start of this book is very descriptive and sucks you in quickly. There's lots of mystery surrounding this town and the Swan pub. Who doesn't like a community of story tellers and people who don't quite fit in. You're immediately thrown into a puzzling situation when a battered, unknown man walks in with a lifeless girl in his arms and then goes unconscious.
I haven't read the Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield but I've heard great things. She certainly has a rich writing style and has a quick pace on plot. Two things that make this book very accessible. The tone is slightly spooky but still cheerful which can be a hard thing to accomplish. This seems like an all around good read for many types of readers.
