Once Upon a River was a beautifully written book. The characters were well developed and their backstories were interesting to read about. While I liked the characters, there were so many that some of them were hard for me to keep track of. However, I liked learning how they were all connected.
The plot of the story is interesting and draws the reader on right away. I was a little underwhelmed by the end of the book though. I felt like I would have liked few more details.
The writing style is somewhat complicated and wordy. The book was a bit longer than it probably needed to be. However, I really liked the story itself and felt an attachment to many of the characters. I actually miss some of them now that I finished the book!
