While the title cleverly plays on the concept of a fairy tale the beginning of the story cements it, opening with a backstory of the innkeepers and then the mysterious appearance of a man with a little girl that seem to have come from the nearby Thames River. The writing has a beautiful storytelling manner to it, with the hint of darkness and mystery of original fairy tales. Definitely makes you want to keep reading to find out what happens!
