The cover was what first drew me to this book. It has a unique and interesting look (river/snake/swan?) and that immediately wanted me to see what it was about. Then of course I saw the author’s name and The Thirteenth Tale from the author is one of my favorite books. So I had to read more and the premise of this book sounds eerie and mysterious - two of my favorite things for gothic tales! The first chapter definitely hooked me in! I love Diane’s writing style and the way she perfectly captures the creepy settings. Definitely can’t wait to grab this book!
