If you're a fan of lovely, lyrical prose, this seems like a good book for you. The sentences flow like the river referenced in the title, creating a very atmospheric setting. We only get hints of the impending supernatural element (the girl coming back to life), but the different characters are introduced well and each person seems well-rounded.
