The story started off strong and I know history buffs will be estatic over this retellilng. I wanted to love it a bit more but after the first few chapters, I startted loosing some of that initial excitement.
Luckly the character end up developing a lot as the story progressive and I was able to become more invested in the outcome.
I did end of enjoying it but maybe not for the reasons I thought I would. The story is rich in history and boasts some great characters (both widely known and some completely new!) that will keep you glued to the book. I also really liked that the author made it easy to read and follow along. Certain phrases seem a bit more modern then the time it is set in but it only helped to make me relate more and understand the dialogue better. Overall a good read.
