Stories of Robin Hood do not often stray from the structured path of this legend. It’s pretty straight forward but thus book mixed things up for the better. The writing is superb. Word choice and sentence flow were elegant and worth the read. The plot is interesting. I have noticed a recent surge of Robin Hood retellings with few having much originality to them. This novel doesn’t suffer from that. It is exciting and full of surprises. I admit to being a bit sick of Robin Hood retellings as of late but this book has changed my mind. The characters are well developed and have varied personalities from the original legend. The cover is beautiful. It has at the same time a feel of the fantastic and also history. Such a great book!
