Although I initially found the description of this book intriguing, the excerpt itself was dull and lacking any sort of hook for me. For someone who is very much into war books or something of the sort, this might be better, but for me it lacked anything that really had me wanting more. In fact, I didn't finish the last few pages because I was already uninterested.
