I wasn't sure about this book. I read a few reviews and decided to give it a go... I have mixed feelings. The story, concept, plot, characters, spiritual aspects...they all kept my interest. I suppose the thing that didn't absorb me was the pacing. It is slow at times, therefore i put the book down and it took a while for me to pick it back up. Ultimately, I'm glad I did, because the story is really intriguing.

I think I would be much like David if I had no fear that I'd die. I could get into his head (so to speak) and would most certainly feel somewhat inaccessible.

This book is the only book I've ever read that falls into the speculative fiction category. It isn't a genre I'd ever seek out, but the author infused it with a wonderful Gospel message that gave it substance.
