I am intrigued by the premise of this book. The main character, David, is compelling; I want to get to know him better. There's a hint of brokenness to him that draws me in. Too much and I wouldn't want to read more, but so far the author has found the right balance. The interplay and tension between David and his employee has the potential to develop into a storyline that provides a strong anchor for the rest of the book. There's a moody atmosphere to the story that I like, kind of spooky. I think the rain storm in chapter 1 encapsulates the feeling perfectly.
