I absolutely adored this book and the entire read! The first thing that completely captured my attention was the amazing and incredible worldbuilding that took place, seriously huge credit to the author for that! And the characters were awesome too! We have Mathilde, Sayer, and Æsa. They all work together but also are very much their own characters and unique in their own ways, I think they all work better together though.
I had such an enjoyable time reading along with these characters and the amazing magic system too! The characters have powers, and abilities, and each page just has you as the reader completely and utterly entrapped with fascination.
Mathilde's entire world comes crashing down around her, and throughout the entire process she was quite naive but she's also very strong and willing to almost sacrifice herself to save the people she cared about.
How can you not become engrossed with this book!
