I don't generally gravitate towards fantasy books but I really liked this one. I felt like the characters were very well fleshed out and the plot itself has a lot of potential especially as this series progresses. It is very reminiscent of the kinds of novels that were fantasy/adventure/a little dystopian such as those that came out back in the 2010s. I really like all the dynamics and the cover is just beautiful. The villains are driven by almost realistic thoughts and it is a really interesting and diverse cast of characters that the author is really able to make you care about and feel for when they go through what they do. The end was kind of surprising to me to be honest but that just sets it up even more for a really interesting sequel, which I will for sure be on the look out for because of how much I loved Nightbirds. I for sure recommend this book!
