This book had me captivated from the moment I read the first page. It starts with this gorgeous and just lush writing that really pulls you in. And leaves you more and more as you learn more about this world. I loved our main characters and was impressed by how unique each characters voice was. My only real quibble with this book was I felt the villains fell a bit flat. The author did a great job at making believable menacing villains but I felt they were lacking in complexity. And to be honest I almost fell asleep by the last half of the book due to how dreadfully boring our villains were. I was also a bit disappointed in how flat I felt the romances were. I understand the book is about the nightbirds and the sisterhood that goes with that but did the romances have to be so bland. All in all this wasn't a perfect book by any stretch of the imagination but I am intrigued and will definitely be checking what else this author does.
