I love the color palette on the cover of Nightbirds by Kate J Armstrong. I also love the illustration it fits the story well. The cover is what pulled me in to be completely honest. "The Goldfinch will help you change your feathers, making you look like someone else." This quote explains what the nightbird called the Goldfinch does which is very important in the story. There are three types in the story here is what the Ptarmigan and Nightingale do: "The Ptarmigan gives the gift of camouflage -- near invisibility. The Nightingale will let you manipulate someone's emotions, smoothing them in whatever direction you desire." I would love to be one hundred percent honest this book was not my favorite it starts out very slow and had a hard time catching my attention. It picks up further you get it I honestly didn't love the story but I still liked it. Here's another important quote in this novel: "All magic is illegal in the Eudean Republic." I don't know if I'd reread it myself but I still recommend it to others.
