This one was so good. It's a little slow in the beginning but once you get past the world building (which is important), the story is fantastic. I loved the atmospheric setting of the 1920's with magical speakeasies and flapper inspired fashions. Each chapter switches points of view, cycling among the three main firebirds. It's nice because it allows the author to have multiple events happening without having to explain it via conversation for the reader because the reader is experiencing it right alongside each character. Of course, I have some ships (I'm SO conflicted about who I really want Mathilde to end up with!) and I adore the queer representation. This is definitely one to pick up if you're into historical fantasy! I know that I'm counting down until the sequel is released next year! (The sneak peeks she's emailed are incredible!)
