This multi-POV magical spin on Prohibition was a delight! I loved the progression from secretly gifting short-term magic to others with a kiss to learning to use magic themselves so they can break free of the Nightbird cage.
I enjoyed the the sweet budding romances and the found family. The supportive male characters (Willan, Alec, Rankin, Krastan) balanced the extreme misogynistic villains. This is an intense and emotional feminist fantasy adventure. Looking forward to book 2!
