The book begins by pulling the reader in right away. Reading the premise before I read the excerpt I wasn't expecting very much as it sounded like a bit of a sensationalist plot. However, it reads really well! Slight inconsistencies of writing style that an editor should have spotted in my view, with an occasional dip into a more informal and teenager-like tone than the rest of the writing, but not a common occurrence. The cover does not do the plot justice and makes it look like more of a children's book than it actually is so somewhat misjudged.
