Sometimes authors neglect story to build a world. Other times the story is all that is important and you're left with a black vision of what the world should be. This book starts with a healthy dose of world and character building as well as a story you WANT to read. Why is Tenny seeking magic? Why was magic outlawed and what in the world is this krellen game? I want to know more. I can feel the emotions of Tenny, his nervousness and anticipation. The writing is smooth and concise. I can't wait to read this.
