What initially drew me to this book was the cover and all its beauty. I read the description and was hooked; I just had to read this first impression and find out if reality would live up to my expectations. The premise is intriguing, with a story about prohibition, but instead of alcohol being illegal it’s girls with magic. The first few chapters have me hooked, and I can’t wait to read more about how everything plays out with the Nightbirds: Matilde, Æsa, and Sayer.
