I really enjoyed another book by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka so I had high hopes for this one. Unfortunately, it did not hit the mark. I don't know if part of the reason was the young-adult genre contributing to some of the cheesiness. It was a really slow-burn. I did enjoy the scenic atmosphere and that was probably one of the only things I liked.

I found Kaylee to be such an annoying character. I understand she was having issues with her own self-confidence after living in the shadow of her famous mother, but her obsession with being perfect and ruining anything that got in her way was over the top. She just kept doing the same things over and over again and it felt like she was constantly complaining. She came across as selfish and shallow as well.

I did enjoyed Dean's character. Although he's the one going through heartbreak, he always seemed optimistic in life. At least he seemed to round out the story a bit.

All in all, I would not recommend this one to others.
