"Never Vacation With Your Ex" is a charming and engaging young adult contemporary romance novel. It tells the story of two former high school sweethearts, Claire and her ex-boyfriend Leo, who accidentally book the same summer vacation with their new partners. The story unfolds from both of their perspectives and the authors do an awesome job capturing the emotions of the two individuals. One of the things that I appreciated the most about the book was the depth of the characters. Claire and Leo are both flawed and complicated. Additionally, their struggles feel authentic and relatable. The way the book is written keeps the reader captivated. One criticism I have of the book is that it has some commonly used romantic and comedic tropes, which makes the book a little predictable. However, I love the tropes that it uses so I do not mind if they make it a little predictable.
