This book is definitely one you would see someone reading on the beach. This is a YA second chance romance with a cute friendship concept. The name of the book definitely speaks for its self, when it says never vacation with your ex. It was out of Kaylee' reach when her parents and her ex's parents decided to go on vacation together. From the beginning, we know that Kaylee will be getting some character development and will become a better volleyball star. She is in her moms shadow trying to get out and become her own person. I saw Dean as a cute boy but he had his moments that seriously didn't make sense. He took many of those times for granted as well. The mother and daughter relationship/development was something that I loved. It was needed, and truly helped the characters in the end. Kaylee really needed to figure who she was as person and she did once her relationship with her mother got better.
