I am a big fan of the author duo Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka and have absolutely devoured their adult romances: The Roughest Draft and Do I Know You? but I have not had the opportunity to read any of their YA work but was excited to do so!
Overall, I found this to be an easy and enjoyable YA read. My main struggle centered on the female main character. Wow is she unlikable! It definitely left me frustrated at times, but I liked seeing the character's growth, especially when exploring the family dynamic issues.
The book also was a bit heavy on teen drama and the teenage hormones that come along with that, I struggled to connect a bit there.
I did find that there were some cute romance moments and by the end, I was definitely rooting for the couple. Definitely got those butterflies going! And I LOVE all the summer vibes! Perfect for this time of year!
I would definitely pick up more YA from this duo in the future!
