Quick thoughts:
Cute second chance/childhood friends romance! This has all the great things in a contemporary YA - coming of age issues, figuring out figure plans and where relationships fit. It was a good pace and an easy read (short chapters helps
with that feel)

I love these two authors and the stories they tell. As an adult I would definitely recommend them to teens that are looking for contemporary romances with a little bit of depth. I think there are a lot of issues that occur to the characters that young people would relate to or connect with.

The setting was fun and perfect for a summer beach read. I like that the two families were involved and they added to the story as side characters.

I would have liked for the romance to be emphasized more. There was a lot of struggle between Kylie's dream of playing volleyball and being in her mom's shadow which would have been a story all by itself.
