I was in the mood for a sweet YA romcom, and this one had just enough depth that I appreciated the balance it struck between more serious themes about growing up and coming of age with the silly romantic aspects. I read this in one day, it was entirely addicting and I appreciated the contrast between the two characters. They referred to their own dynamic as grump sunshine and I would tend to agree, although I appreciated the way that the typical gender dynamics of that type of relationship were inverted in this case. Kaylee was a fun character to see from her perspective considering her conflicts around her future as a professional athlete. The epilogue also was one of the best I have read in a romance considering it answered a lot of the major questions I might have about the future of the characters, while feeling satisfyingly open ended.
