This was a good, sweet, YA romance. I have only read adult romance from Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka, and this maybe didn’t draw me in as much as the previous books I’ve read from them, but it was still enjoyable!

Kaylee and Dean have been friends their entire lives, then started dating, only to break up after a couple of months—which is Kaylee’s dating MO. She has a lot of other things to focus on in her life, like becoming a professional volleyball player like her mom and having a social media presence to go along with it. Unfortunately, she can’t just avoid Dean and move on like she usually does, because their families always vacation together every summer (including this one).
I enjoyed the modernization of this little love story, like the glimpses into social media influencing, and I thought that Kaylee and Dean made sense together. My one gripe (slight spoiler) is that Kaylee’s dating MO is not really explained in full. Regardless, a fun easy read (that I’d recommend taking to the beach)! Thanks to BookishFirst and the publisher for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review—I only wish the book had arrived in time for a review prior to the publishing date!
