I think this is a good summer read for teens. It has some drama as well as romance.
However, I did have a hard time throughout the book at times with liking the main character Kaylee. She doesn’t always come off as this likable character. Sometimes she comes off as very privileged. I know she was under alot of pressure living in her mother’s shadow. She also was trying very hard to go after her dreams as a professional volleyball player but it just kind of turned me off at times.
I really liked Dean. I thought he was a great character. I loved that he was into books and taking pictures. He was very relatable.
The location of the book was perfect. It was so easy to visualize that it places you right into the story.
Overall, it is a good young adult read with a good second chance romance thrown into the mix. I think it is a good summer read to add to your list.
