This is a book that I was worried could fall onto the side of trite, or trope. Something overdone. But my goodness if I wasn't already smiling my way through the first few chapters. And I have an uncomfortable amount of relation to Kaylee's sudden disinterest in her boyfriends and the pain of breaking up with someone who, in her words, is "a nice, cute boy who did nothing wrong." Maybe I can get some closure for my own past with causing that specific kind of pain through her story.
It also sounds hella cute, and I don't know much about volleyball so I'm excited to learn about it more through her. If she's training for the OLYMPICS, I have to assume this book would have some accurate information! How cool!
