The authors did a great job of fleshing out Kaylee's character in the first impression. Even though she does juvenile things like expecting Dean not to come to California, she's not unlikeable. She's sympathetic, and her issues are easy for the reader to understand, and I feel like it's enough for the typical YA reader to stick around for.

*I'm so sorry Dean- I can't believe she broke up with him after they said "I love you" to each other.

Sadly, I'm still not interested enough to read this one. Even though I would like to read a second-chance romance, it feels young for me, and I'm not much older than the MC haha. The book cover is cute though. I think it catches the vibes of their summer vacation.
