Just by the description, I can probably predict the entire plot of the book. In some ways that's a bad thing, but when you are looking for a summer read to take on vacation, it's usually a good thing. I think that's where this book's strength lies--you know what's coming, so you can stop and start at will. I would still love to see if there are twists I don't expect.
