This book is funny and relatable. It captures so much - from body image to various relationships (parents, siblings, love interest, friends) - I felt it all! There's lots of humor sprinkled throughout so it's not all just teenage angst and frustration.

The insecurities Greer feels are all common ones: lack of confidence, self-consciousness, anxiety, insecurity, over analyzing situations, etc; though hers center around a problem I've never personally experienced. Still, the author's narration paints such a thorough and vivid image, you really sympathize with the main character. I like that the characters all have their own personalities and act in realistic and dynamic ways.

I loved how the author wasn't afraid to touch on some of the more difficult relationships, like with her parents. There's even a scene when Greer plans out how she's going to speak to her doctor privately but ends up getting steamrolled.

This story is so simple yet beautiful. A sort of coming-of-age book that deals with all the subtleties of growing up, not just the leaving-the-nest-for-the-first-time bits. In fact, this really is just the start of Greer's true story.
