I had never heard of a book focusing on this specific body image issue before this book, which is crazy considering this is something many women struggle with. I was afraid this was going to be another flawless character who doesn’t see their true worth until a man sweeps her off her feet all while being tortured by some overly mean and nasty girls. That’s the way books like this go. I was pleasantly surprised by how human Greer was, as well as many of the side characters. They felt real, not fairy tail characters many books end up becoming. This book was more than just a typical high school drama YA, it was one pushing for female empowerment and finding support and positivity within female friendships and female family relationships. Women should read this book. Men need to read this book. This book was so much heavier than I could have ever believed, but it was also fun and witty and so so so fresh.
