An odd opening with a potential couple, then a sudden intake of breath as a person who fainted turned out to have been strangled.

Here we have a girl protagonist who seems to know what she is about, though she's not too out- of- the- ordinary in the beginning. She can command when she needs to and handle a street case when she needs to. Like, what more can a reader ask for?

Jane seems to have a lot of soft spots for the male characters who have some kind of tiny flaw, but it doesn't take away from the story. Though its pretty noticeable in the beginning, it just seems like an author's bias on men. Jane herself is a really capable character and knows how to ride hair blowing into a crime scene.

Characters, check! Crime scene, check! A whole conspiracy in the process of enactment, check!--Definitely a book worth thinking about picking up.
