This started with a dead body and a crime scene, but there was so much jargon (so much that a glossary is included) and political infighting, just in the first few pages, that it was distracting to me & hindered my ability to get into the story. And I guess maybe the author was trying to set up the characters but there was too much detail about who liked who and who was trying to assert there authority over who...just not my cup of tea.
