I was only 10 in 1979, and don't remember much other than the long lines at the gas pumps. It would be nice to read a story set in that time period to know a little more about what the conditions were at that time.
Police thrillers are always a good read, but I hesitate at getting the fourth book in a series. It is sometimes a bit difficult to jump into something midstream, so to speak. Also, in the sample, I see a glossary of terms - sometimes it is hard to read a story with a ton of acronyms and to have to keep flipping back to see what they all mean.
