I have read all of Lynda La Plante's novels, and yet she keeps surprising me with her fast-paced, suspenseful books. Her characters are well crafted and the plot keeps going with her usual twists and turns. She has fleshed out Jane Tennison to be a tenacious investigator with a dedication that is not given the proper credit by her superiors, a circumstance that many readers can relate to. I wish there had been a few more pages to read, so now I'm on the hook for more.
