I'm going to start with the cover- classic Lynda La Plante- simple yet it says so much about the book and always fits it perfectly. It would definitely draw me in. I've read some of Lynda La Plante's previous works and I must say I love her characterizations. I love the characters she creates and the way the interact with each other. I love the setting and in this one I love all of that as well as the time. She really sets the scene with what's going on in England at the time- the political climate, etc. And she builds on that. There's never a point where you feel inundated with information but you are still given everything you need to try to solve the mystery alongside Jane. This is so exciting! I can't wait to read the rest and see what happens!
