I love Jane Tennison and her tenacity at solving cases. Her challenges are not only the murders but some of the people with whom she works. In this latest book, Jane is working with Brian Edwards, a not so bright constable who has to be told in detail everything that she wants him to do. She is also working with DI Moran and DI Gibbs, characters from previous books. Moran is testy and exerts his authority completely, seeming to begrudgingly allow Jane as a DS to perform the house-to-house interviews that will begin the investigation into this new murder. Gibbs is still the comic relief, arriving at the murder scene in his clothes that he wore to perform with his band. All in all, this murder draws the reader into the scene so that investigation becomes a priority and the reader wants to keep reading! Jane Tennison books are wonderful reads for mystery buffs and from what I have read so far, this book is definitely another must-read!
