Loretta Plansky is a widow who has built a satisfying life in a Florida retirement community. She does have to deal with an aging father and two rather selfish children who view her as a bank. Loretta's circumstances change when she gives away the password to her bank accounts in a late-night call that she believes is from a grandson in trouble. Although the FBI becomes involved, Loretta takes matters into her own hands and sets out to recapture her funds. I found her to be believable and smart. There is some humor in the dialogue, but perhaps not as much as I expected from reading other books by Spencer Quinn. I also wished that the scammers' storyline had been a little more developed. The story moved fairly quickly and held my interest for the most part. This would be a good book to read at the beach or on an airplane as it has a solid story that is easy to follow.
