The main character, Loretta Plansky, is instantly likable. She is quirky, courageous, gullible, and overall a character that many can probably relate to. The other characters were also developed well, especially the descriptions of appearances.
A lot of things throughout the book fell into place a little too perfectly, like how Loretta ran into Dinu and Romeo at the landing, and how she stumbled upon the scam in action in the middle of the night, and how she happened to hear Max groaning as she was passing by a random door in the hidden passageway. I enjoy coincidences but this book took coincidences to a new extreme.
The writing style was wordy, and hard to follow at times. Especially when you throw all the foreign names and landmarks and cities into the mix.
Overall, this was a fun read, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a light, entertaining book.
