My first time reading about veterans. I love reading books where the author is an expert on what they write about because although it may be fiction, there is a lot of reality intertwined throughout. That kind of realism makes for a much better read and one that makes me more and more immersed in the read.
Let's start with the cover. I liked the dark atmosphere that it painted and how it really set the tone for what you are about to read. The title was pretty straight forward but I didn't mind it.
The book itself was really good. I liked the author's style of writing and prose. It really brought the characters to life and the atmosphere was easily imaginable. Pat and Galan both had so much depth and dimension, I could imagine how each character would react in a certain situation. I would definitely read another book from this author. Very surprised that this is his first.
