Honestly, I'm split on wanting to get this book. Part of me really wants to get it, the other part wants to see if I win it. It isn't as if I don't have the points, it's just that I'm not sure.
Right off - the cover doesn't grab me at all. It just doesn't. Honestly, I've seen a lot better independently published covers (two here recently that grabbed me, one was stunning). So, for this to be published by a bigger publisher, I think more effort should've gone into the design.
The story - it's a bit contentious depending on what side of the "illegal" immigration subject you're on. There are some that this might trigger either way.
There have been two TV series I've seen that have done the WET FOOT/DRY FOOT policy take. Probably more, but I have seen something similar on CSI: Miami as well as J*A*G (Florida Straits). So, there have been stories about this subject.
It sounds like a great read, yet the first impression doesn't give me the feels I need to spent the points.
