So from the synopsis, I probably wouldn't have picked this one up. Just didn't feel like my cup of tea. BUT that prologue hit me right in the feels with the anticipation and trepidation as we know the mom/sister don't leave with him so it pulled me right in to see how that happened and why. Very effective intro to this book and characters!
