This is a winner, the best book that I’ve read so far this year, very emotional and heart touching. This author has a way of writing that made my soul cry. ‘Missing Isaac’ is a very well written historical novel with a great plot, and extremely well developed and complex characters. The McCleans and Ballards are extremely kind, generous, caring, and nondiscriminatory as they interact with neighbors, friends, and employees. The setting is the 1960’s south, a time of upheaval and unrest in the United States. I couldn’t put it down; the story grabbed me and wouldn’t let go. I found myself reading until the wee hours of the morning. This is a wonderful story that everyone should read. I look forward to reading more from Valerie Fraser Luesse in the future.
